Files ready to be written?

I tried to copy some files to DVD a few weeks ago but was unsuccessful. Since then every time I log on I get a pop up from the task bar at the bottom of the screen saying that I have files ready to be written to CD. I have tried to delete the files but it keeps saying they are read only and prevents me from deleting them. Any ideas on how I could get rid of them ?

Thanks for that, but unfortunately I have used CCleaner for a few years and as good as it is it doesn't deal with this problem

I tried the other suggestion and that doesn't work either.... back to the drawing board eh
