Becoming disheartened

I've been comping seriously since mid-January and have won seven times now. Nothing too grand but I look on each win as a bonus as it has cost me nothing and it's something I enjoy doing.
I do enter comps on Fb, Twitter and the web.
I do believe it's all down to the luck of the draw and am sure that pretty soon I'll hit a dry spell. As with any hobby, if it stops amusing you it can be put to one side and picked up again later. Meantime, good luck for a win and hope it's a big one x
BTW all of the wins have stemmed from posts on here so a huge thanks to all the posters!!0 -
Its really something that tends to be a numbers game on the whole, ie the more you can enter the more you win, the 1st few years I did it I only won small items, 2 yrs ago I won more small items and then last year I had a big year with a number of large wins
This year has been mainly small wins but you need to keep going reallyJuly 2015 Wins- Shaun The Sheep Goody Bag, 4x Books
Year to date: £786
Total to date ( Since 2008 ) = £37,345 :eek:0 -
It's a combo of time and luck (obvious I know). I haven't had much of either so not surprised I haven't won anything really!0

Thanks for all the kind posts guys, I'm not gonna give up no way, I'd always be wondering what I'd missed out on if I quit...
Good things come to those who are impatient.
Got a WEM today saying I'd won 1 of 200 boxes of Hotel Chocolat chocolates, it's a small one but still a win hehe, from here:

I disagree with "the more you enter the more you win" Well statistically that would be the theory but for me I had a fantastic 2012 and I probably only enter on average say 50 comps a week. However 2013 has not got off to a good start with only 3 small prizes
You read of people entering hundreds a day and not winning and you read of people who only enter a handful of comps and do win.
For the majority of comps where you just need to send an email or fill a form, winning is down to one thing only......LUCK. Nothing more nothing less just luck. It doesn't matter how you enter, when you enter, what email address you use ie gmail, yahoo etc, how you word your email, how you fill your forms etc it is not going to change your chance of winning. It is like winning a raffle, winning the lottery, winning at bingo you just need that little four letter word "luck"
For the majority of competitions you are up against thousands of entries so your chances are slim but if luck is on your side and your name gets picked then fantastic. In life some of us are lucky some of us are not, sadly that is life.
Also I would delete "MSE" form your facebook name. FB rules stipulate that your account must be in your real name and you run the risk of having your FB account closed if you were ever asked to send in ID (as some people have had to) as your ID obviously would not have MSE on it.
Wishing you all (and me) lots of luck as we all need it sometimes

It's easy to get disheartened, don't give up - I had 3 wins in one week last week & it will probably be ages now before I win anything else, I think that's just the way of it.
Keep at it, am sure you will win something soon - you only have to look at the post in I've won section to read that lots of them have waited ages for a win!
Does your OH have a facebook account? If they didn't mind could you enter the womens comps under her name and the rest under yours?
(glad you won the chocs):T
