Help required to book cheap hotels and siteseeing in Washington and New York.

Hi
I am travelling to America, namely Washington and New York end of June/july, with my wife and two teeneagers. Anyone help me with
1) Where can we stay resonably priced (cheap!)
2) How can we get from Dulles Airport to hotel
3)Any siteseeing tips for washington (we plan to be there for 3 days/four nights

and same as above for New York - going to be there for 4th July Celebrations

the beekman tower which is part of the affinia group has a good price for a 1 bedroom suite.i put in 3-7 july and the price was £383.1 bed and 1 sofa bed.
