Just a follow up to this...I have continued my discussions with my employer and they are going well. Have given myself a time limit of a year to be back in the north with an open limit about leaving work. Happily I can do this at any time it suits me, but I do want to make sure that any new person coming into the role is supported by me before I go.
My spirit is starting to soar again and I can see lots of happy times ahead.
