When you say it doesn't work, what exactly happens? Does the link take you to a 404 page or do you get to a page to download them and then that page doesn't let you?0 -
What file format are the docs in?. Or can't you reach the link?

If they're in the form of PDF documents you may need Adobe Acrobat reader.0

Or better still an alternative such as Foxit Reader.
I've had problems for a while with Acrobat reader both online and offline. Whenever I tried to open a doc from a link the reader 'stopped responding' and shut down.
But that's assuming it's a PDF issue...0 -

I had a similar problem but I can't remember what the solution was. all I know is that I had to email the insurance company and get them to resolve it. I would advise you to do the same because many others are likely to have had the same problem."Some folks are wise and some are otherwise." - Tobias Smollett0

Try downloading Firefox 19.0 and using it instead of IE
This latest version includes a cool PDF reader written in Javascript (assuming your docs are PDF's)

I've tried it on several PDF file downloads successfully"It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

Most web page writers dont support Internet Explorer, it is far too easy to hack and trojan your computer, so they avoid coding for it as it is seen as insecure.
As said, Firefox, google chrome or safari are the way forward.Be happy...;)0 -
