    A good price is free (that's what the wife gets charged :D )

    A realistic price is £35 upwards ( price varies according to several issues- hassle factor etc)

    It'a a time thing - it can take from 15 mins - all day.

    There's always one.

    The point I was making it depends on the job. I have done 4 sockets in 45 mins, and on another job it took 5 hours for 2- concrete floors, concrete roof, little access, moving furnature and replacnig.

    oh and there's the certifiation and testing.

    A job takes as long as it takes. I would rather do a job right first time with no come back, than cut corners.

    yep , laminate may make difference if the electrician needs below the floor.

    You can't run cables horizontally, unless in safe zones (regs)

    If you live in England / Wales it may come under part P.

    I you live in Scotland it may come under the building regs (only likely it's a flat, maisonete or house above 2 floors)

    You should insist on BS7671 paperwork (electrical certificates) as you will need paperwork if you sell - Home Information Packs (england/wales) or the single survey scheme (scotland)

    You should use a competent person for the work, links below

    In Scotland:
    Individuals regitered;

    Companies

    In England and Wales:
