Credit Rating and a cancelled Direct Debit???

Hi sorry i couldn't find a section to put this in! Just wondered, so i had a car with Citroen on a hire agreement and i have come to the end and gone direct with Mazda for a new car, who paid off the final settlement to Citroen on Weds 20th Feb. I called Citroen today, 22nd Feb to confirm no monthly payment will be coming out on 25th of the month. they said they have had the settlement from Mazda but cannot stop the standing order request so the money will still try to come out on 25th, however i should cancel my standing order for the monthly payment with my bank ASAP to prevent it from doing so. My question is- surely this would affect my credit rating, cancelling a standing order and a company trying to take money ? the lady said it wouldn't but i am not confident in this! What can i do?
