Hi,
I'm having great difficulty with my mouse, it is only working intermittently, and the rest of the time, it freezes. (as you can see it's working at the moment!).
What I need to know is, if it is a problem with the mouse, in which case I'll buy another one. Or could it be a pc problem? I'm on a pretty ancient desktop pc but its still going strong!
Oh, have tried other meeses, none work (but they were, I think, broken anyway) All usb ports are working well.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Is it a mouse with a ball inside it or an optical one.
If its the former ten clean the rollers, if its the later then beg or borrow another to try before you buy. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
If it's the former buy another one anyway and donate yours to the science museum. Optical mice can be had for just a few pounds these days.0

Lol, it's a wireless, optical mouse, not quite ready for the science museum yet!

Have you changed the batteries recently?
Is the receiver for the mouse still secure in the base-unit?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
We used to get a vet to do ours ......
Anyway, batteries are possibly on the way out (unless it's a wind-up mouse??).:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Buy one with a tail that plugs in, bit of a luddite when it comes to wireless unless it can't be avoided.
I hate meeces to pieces!

+1 for that. No battery problems, no installation problems and cheaper. And there is no need for wireless as you are usually never more than arm's length (0.5 British standard mouse tail) from the PC.
There is a case for wireless mouse with a laptop, where the mouse tail can get caught in the sofa reclining mechanism, but that's a whole other story.

+1 for the problem being the batteries. If anything with batteries plays up my first thing to try after turning off and on again is changing them.
The symptoms described fit duff batteries in a wireless mouse precisely. I would have suggested it way back but sort of assumed it must be wired because everybody would try new batteries first.0
