What to eat on a flight?

I'm another in favour of the Boots Meal Deal. But I also take an empty bottle through security and fill it up either the other side of security or even on the plane!. The FA's will always oblige!
The sports bottle will last you whilst your away. Just keep refilling with the jumbo 25l bottles you can buy in Egypt.
For a sweet treat, I buy a packet of wine gums. Good for chewing during take off and landing.0 -

Much as nuts are handy to have, you may not be allowed them, or anything containing them!
Last time I was on a flight there was an announcement over the tannoy that someone on the aircraft had an allergy and nobody was allowed to open/eat anything containing nuts.
Just keep that in mind!!
I always fly Emirates and they used to give you a packet of mixed nuts as a snack before serving meals, but now they give you a packet of savoury biscuits!0 -
I also do the same as sstepanie40 - take an empty plastic bottle through security and fill it up afterwards. I usually have one with me anyway, so it's just a matter of emptying it before security. As long as I show that it's empty, nobody's ever stopped me taking it through, even in the US where the TSA can be more picky than other places.0

Do you need to eat on the plan at all?0

I guess that dependes on how long the flight is and the passanger's preferences... I saw a program on tv once that said the way to avoid jet lag was not to eat anything at all, no matter how long the flight.. personally I found that impossible with flights that take more than 8 hours!!!0

Beware at Manchester Airport - there are NO places to fill an empty bottle at all! All the drinking fountains have disappeared, and the taps in the toilets are all HOT.
Wnen I've asked in cafes to have them fill it for me, they're very reluctant!:mad:Dogs have owners, CATS have STAFF...0 -
It's the same in Gatwick now, but Boots sell small water bottles for 65p.0

Just a word of warning from my old school days and packed lunches.
NO boiled eggs, or anything like Garlic Sausage, if you want to get off the plane alive ! lol0 -
