Motorpoint "add on charges"

After being nearly ripped off big time by their finance company, I now just want to query the add on charges:

Should I have had to pay on the road charges and compulsary europa £89 breakdown cover which added £174 to the price of my car.

It says on the invoice "customer ordered extras and accessories":

Prep, HPI and PCI Charge 62.13
Euoplates 25
Europ assistance 89

Seems confusing to me!

Anyone else had this?

Yes Motorpoint do this. Ring and cancel any of the items you don't want.

I complained about the europlates but was told they were compulsory as is some kind of admin charge. Europ assistance? You should be able to cancel that.

For me the only driver to use tham before was cost, and their prices appear to have crept up - my local VW dealer can match most of their prices on used VW's but with much better service and no extra charges for new plates etc plus it will be serviced before collection. I think they are trading on their past reputation of being cheap which is no longer the case.

Out of interest what was teh issue with the finance?

yeah, the Europ Assistance is cancellable - it's an insurance policy so there would be a 14 day "cooling off" perioid or whatver the FSA call it now.
