Problem with 1899 or Internet Explorer?

Hi is anyone else experiencing problems with either 1899 or Internet explorer?
I just cannot access the web pages, Ii seem to be able to connect to 1899 but then when I try to view pages through Internet explorer it just says the the page cannot be viewed!
Any ideas whats gone wrong gratefully received.
Prob will not be able to check replies till Tuesday as im in the Library and they would be open Bank hoilday monday! Thanks
