I wouldn't hire milliband unless he agreed to blow his nose and use a vics inhaler. He sounds awful.

I'd prefer it if he just didn't speak, no matter what his voice is like there'll be rubbish coming from his mouth :p

I'd say the vast majority of our politicians need a reality check.

They seem to think that sound bites, and market knows best type ideology will take us back to the first world economic table, harking back to some bygone era.

They are deluded. It's a bunfight from now on. We have no superior given edge on any of the emerging economies.

Unfortunately it is not just the politicians in need of facing reality.

We live in a world of soundbites, quick fixes and taking the easy options

Now is not the time for soundbites. We feel the hand of history on our shoulders.........

So how much influence on Government Policy do you think you would get for such a modest donation to the cause? Probably enough to protect your Newspaper from regulation, or prevent your bank from regulation, or the inside track on the latest NHS contracts.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

    I agree.

Then imagine how much influence you have over the Labour Party if you are one of the 2 public sector trade unions that provides Labour with over a third of their income each year.

I'm sure it's coincidence that public sector wages rose so fast under Labour.

I am really flattered by this thread. I have been working on the quality of my contributions and that the careful crafting of recent posts has been recognised, touching lives as far away as Australia has moved me. Thanks Gen.;)

I am also available to eat dinner for a lot less than £700,000.
