I have been tasked with trying to find accomodation in Barcelona for a 3 night city break for my friend and his partner, I thought I had cracked it and made a booking for him only to get an e-mail saying that the accomodation was not available after all. They are flying on 15th May and returning on the 18th May. The budget is a maximum of £300 in total for the accomodation and they are not bothered if it is a hotel or apartment. I need to find somewhere decent for them to stay and the pressure is on. I would be greatful for any help in finding nice accomodation within the budget. Thanks in advance.

At £100 a night you should have plenty of options. Have you had a look at the reviews on https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk?
If you have a look at the Easyjethotels thread are here people have stayed at several hotels in Barcelona, and I have just booked a stay the H10 Marina. There are several H10 hotels in Barcelona, and some more central than Marina ... I just fancied that one!
Once you find the hotel you want, then put the details into https://www.hotelscomparison.com to try to find the best deal.
Hope that helps! xGone ... or have I?0 -
i dont envy, booking hotels for others is somewhat frightening. Old bill, if you have a hotel in mind post it here, typically dmg etc are experts in barcelona due to the free hotels we have enjoyed.0

Stayed here some years ago - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187497-d236209-Reviews-Hotel_Jardi-Barcelona_Catalonia.html
It was a budget option, as I recall extremely central, characterful, rooms facing the square have a great view but you need to close the heavy outer doors to the balcony to get any peace at night from the traffic noise. Bookable by fax.0 -
I stayed in the "B Hotel" when I did the Barcelona marathon in March.
Nice place, reasonable prices, pool on roof. Not bang in the centre but not too far away. However, it has very good airport access. It was good for me because it was close to the start line. (And the finish line when I needed a lie down!)
Barcelona is absolutely superb. Your friends will love it I'm sure.0
