Friday went well. It wasn't actually my Mum's birthday but I didn't think I'd see her today, the actual birthday day! We met up at 7am - eek! so that we'd have a chance for some breakfast. I took her phone and opened a web page on her phone which I then closed down. When we got onto the M25 I told her that when she wants to know where we're going to open the internet on her phone!

She's a massive Harry Potter fan and I'd bought us tickets to the tour for the day. If anyone reading this ever wants to go then I highly recommend booking 9:30 or 10am tickets. The place was so comfortably booked that we weren't fighting for space or missing anything. It was great. We took a nice slow wander around and she was so excited to see how some of the effects are created and I thought the animatronics section was fantastic. We stopped half way round and had a butterbeer each and generally enjoyed the whole tour. It's a great place for both adults and children but a friend of mine who went in half term holidays said there were dementors wandering around. We had nothing like that, but we didn't miss what we didn't know about.

Yesterday I had to work a 12 hour shift. It's making me really tired with all the extra and late hours I'm doing though so I'm hoping it won't be for much longer. When I feel this shattered it makes we want to claim the hours back as time off! I've worked enough overtime to get another week off, or be paid for the week minus tax! Something I need to think about when I'm not so desperate for a lie in! The extra money would be a nice boost to the mortgage!

My Mum was meant to see my sister today who had told her early February that she'd found a wonderful restaurant to take her to for her birthday. That restaurant turned into a sandwich lunch, which turned into a "let's see how we feel" to a cancellation yesterday afternoon! So I cancelled working today and we went out for lunch and then onto the shops. Not a great birthday treat but, if I'm really honest, I just didn't have the energy to work out something a bit more special. So, I've checked the changing of the guards details and there's one at Buckingham Palace next Monday so I'll take her to see that, as I promised her last week. It'll also be a free day out other than fares.

I usually don't work on a Monday but I need to go in tomorrow. It means I'll work a 4 day week, but I can have that day back the following week. It's just easier for everyone that way.

Without wishing my life away I'm looking forward to getting through this week. I'm out tomorrow night with J for the dinner and show we booked early this month which I'm really looking forward to while hoping I stay awake! I feel socially unfit!!! :o

Right, time to make lunch for tomorrow. My eating habits have gone to pot with just grabbing anything that's easy rather than cooking something nutritious! I have to nip that in the bud!

I hope everyone's had a lovely weekend! A fresh week starts tomorrow! :D

So that's where Mr GG goes instead of playing golf . I told him he was a dementor - he's not read/seen Harry P but when I told him they suck all of the joy out of your life and leave you in despair he thought it was a compliment :rotfl:.

Glad you had a lovely day :T. Enjoy the changing of the guard. I've never seen it, nor the crown jewels. Thinking 2013 may be the year. Would you like to take me :).

OK, back on track for a more appropriate post!

In December I sold a massive astrology collection that I'd collected years ago! Last week she finally managed to come and collect - and pay! So, that's another little boost that will be sent to the mortgage. I didn't get much for it, but was very happy to get it out of my way.

I also successfully completed a mystery shop, which is another £5 awarded.

So I just need to find some spare time to get to the bank this week. One lunchtime should be possible.

For the rest of this month I'm out tonight, meeting a friend on Saturday and very likely coming into London next Monday, although that can be kept frugal. I do need to get my hair cut at some point soon, but that will be more budget dependent. I won't make any more plans than that and I should come in under budget and have a little spare to put towards a car service. I'm desperate to get that done now.

Happy Fresh Week everyone! It's all shiny and new today!

Last night was quite a mixed bag, but the theatre part was SO bad that we found it very funny.

We met at Piccadilly Circus and wandered off to the restaurant. The service was good as was the food so all went well there. After the meal we had to get to the theatre box office and collect our tickets. We were in Row P seats 1 and 2. Didn't sound too bad.

Until we walked up to the top of the theatre, showed our tickets and then were directed off down the corridor to another batch of stairs! These stairs had no carpet or wallpaper, just concrete and paint! :D

At the top of these stairs we could only find up to Row O and the stage was a dim and distant dot! I looked along and saw another few steps and realised that we were literally in the back row which comprised of just 2 seats!!!! As we sat down all you could really see was a sea of heads moving around in front of us and a small area of stage. Visibility was purely dependent on finding a little gap to look through and hope no one moved their head! :) Absolutely brilliant. There is something a bit comforting about knowing we had the worst seats in the house!

So, for the first part of the show we both bobbed and weaved around until that was too exhausting. At that point I rested my chin on my hand and shut my eyes! :o J did the same on his side!

We only paid £20 for tickets and dinner so neither of us felt aggreived at all and have both really seen the funny side of it. It also meant that I was able to leave half way through the second part so that I didn't have to travel home too late and didn't disturb anyone at all.

Today I'm feeling like I desperately need an early night which I'll treat myself to!

In financial matters I've just received some mystery shop invites so I'll go and see what they have. I also sold 2 ebay items yesterday so they were sent today. More needs to be added this weekend.

    Happy Tuesday!!! :)

I've put my overtime claims in. My company have current stipulations on how many hours they'll pay so I requested the maximum amount and the rest as time off. So that'll be paid at the end of April.

During my internet saving related travels I found an ISA offering £70 cashback which I think I'm going to open, just for the free money really as I wasn't planning on setting up a new ISA for 13/14.

I also claimed a mystery shop invite so hopefully that'll get assigned to me soon which is another £4.

I've joined the magic box clutter clear challenge so I need to go through the house and make sure it includes at least 50 items for March. I'll be doing a boot sale on Sunday if weather permits so it's an ongoing process. I've signed up for 100 items cleared out of my house each month and as I've not even started on the loft I think I'm going to find this very doable.

I think I'm doing a bit more overtime tonight, although that's likely to end up in future time off than cold hard cash unfortunately.

Ooh, Krispy Kreme have just offered me 12 free donuts when I buy a dozen! I've not brought in cake for my birthday yet so this solves that problem!

Which has just triggered my memory on a birthday I nearly forgot and have now sent birthday wishes! Phew!

Traa laa laaah - today is a good day!
