check out Adblock Plus if you use Firefox browser. Its a firefox add-on.

It prevents advert banners from opening. Especially good on the Times website where you get some adverts that fill the page if you inadvertently roll your cursor over them.

Adblock is great, but I can't find a way of removing the top-right advert from The Times online, so there's a great block of space at the top of the web page before you see the headlines :mad:0

The Remove It Permanently extension will take care of that.
Another extension that I've found to be invaluable is NoScript. I wouldn't be without it.0 -
