Best way to view browsing history?

Using Chrome on Windows 7.
When I view the history page in Chrome it seems to miss out chunks of browsing history. For example when I view Tuesday's history the earliest entry is 20:21 even though I'd been browsing when I got home from work & in the morning before going to work. Before that it's a pages from Monday evening. Similar on previous days with the earliest entry at 19:53, 18:37 and 20:40 on preceding days.
The history must be there as when I type something into the search I that I viewed during that time it shows up. Unfortunately when you search like this it doesn't show the time a page was visited which is what I wanted to find out.
So any recommendations on the best way to view history, including the time?
I've found an extension for Chrome but this only shows the date. There's a download I found on the Cnet site which may work but before looking any further does any have any suggestions.
I never use incognito browsing before anyone asks.

Use the Better History extension, works well and covers the times missed by default history due to bug.0

Thanks.
Seems to do the job.
I've found a few similar questions regarding Chrome history on the Google forums. I take it they either haven't acknowledged a problem or at least not found a solution.0
