I am thinking of applying for a credit card, which are more likely to say yes?

How long's a piece of string?
How deep is half a hole?
Tell us some more information - have you had credit before? What age are you? Have you had credit problems in the past? How much roughly is your income? Are you employed?
If you have never had credit before or have had credit problems in the recent past then Capital One is probably your best starting point.0 -
Do you have any lines of credit already eg: mortgage, contract mobile phone, another credit card? Without any of these your choice will be severely limited but your own bank 'might' still be willing to give you a CC.
Otherwise it would have to be a secured credit card which require a deposit as collateral, Capital One do such a CC. BUT these cards tend to charge horrendous interest rates if you dont pay them off in full every month so only get one if you are certain you can be disciplined to pay them off regularly. After about 6+ months of good behaviour with this CC you will then have sufficient a credit record to get a 'normal' card.
If you do have a decent credit record already Egg and the various MBNA and MBNA branded cards tend to be the most generous.

Thanks for your replies so far!
I do have a mortgage and a credit card and a mobile phone contract, no problems with any of them. I work part time and earn £6000 min. Does my husband having credit cards affect my chance of getting another? He had one with Egg but got behind with payments, he has now paid this off, would they now consider me for one?0 -

The fact your husband got behind with payments before _may_ affect your ability to obtain certain credit cards (as some lenders reject all applications with any negative information on the credit file - late payments; defaults etc). If you are financially associated with your husband (which would seem highly likely - since you are married; and probably have a joint mortgage or current account in both your names?). This would mean that when a lender searches your credit file, they will see your husbands credit file and history at the same address.
You can check this however by applying for a copy of your credit file from Equifax and Experian. You will then be able to see how the late payments to Egg were recorded on the credit file (if they were in fact recorded at all!).0 -
'Generally', Capital One will give you a credit card even if you have a weak, low or no credit history.
however, there APR will tend to be over 20% and they may not give you a high, initial credit limit.
But, the high APR isnt a problem if you know that you'll be able to pay off all your balances at the end of every month!0
