Advice please - item not received

Posted on here last week about the same issue but now I have an update.

I ordered an item worth about £100. This is the third week and it has not shown, contacted the delivery office - nothing and contacted the seller, who I said I would wait until today. She doesn't seem to be offering a refund.

This was her reply to my message today saying it still hadn't arrived

Hi there - thanks for getting back to me. I've filled in the PO form and am now going to pursue this as a lost item. I will enclose, for them, a copy of the invoice and your details and will send you copies of everything I have here both via email and postally. So one way or another you will have proof of what's happening.

So please can give me some advice as obviously the item hasn't arrived and I am doubtful it will now, am I wrong in asking for a refund now and I tend to be quite blunt so want to make sure I ask in the right way. Any advice appreciated:mad:?
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

If it's past expected delivery date, then open an Item Not Received case. Doesn't matter that she's persuing the PO, that's nothing really to do with you. She should really have either sent another or refunded you by now.
Depends what you want...a refund or the item (if she can send another).

No she only had one of the items, she said she sent it early this month. Her message says to me she doesn't want to refund until the PO refund her.

  • Although she shouldn't be stalling refunding you, the tone of her email sounds like she's trying to be reasonable. So maybe give her one last chance.

I would send her a polite message back saying something like:

Thank you for updating me. However, I'm sure you'll appreciate that I have been out of hand for three weeks now, and would be greatful if you could send me the refund now to allow me to purchase the item elsewhere.

Then if she still tries to stall, open a case.

I agree with rainbowDrops, be polite but be blunt. It is actually easier for a seller if you tell them exactly what you eexpect rather than hint at it, so ask for a refund and if they say no, or don't respond then open a full INR on paypal.

  • Or she could well be trying to stall you past the 45days at which point you can't open a case against her.
  • Depending how she sent it, ie standard mail or Special Delivery, she won't be getting the full £100 value of the lost item back anyway from RM.
  • Maybe the cost to her is less than £46 although the buyer paid more...
Either way I would be asking for a refund now. Please.
