Mind I think it may have been the way I collapsed into a sobbing heap just discussing attempting to quit that may have persuaded my nurse it was champix or nothing :rotfl:

I too was prescribed Champix straight away. I had heard about it on the internet and simply asked my Doctor if I could try it. He immediately game me a prescription.

I'm a smoker myself, and whilst I'm aware that it's a disgusting habit, if someone tells me to stop (especially someone I don't know at all or very well), it would annoy me! I know I should stop but who is someone else to tell me to?

Nice one. I like to see people confronting their habits/addictions and smashing them into pieces. Far too many whiners around saying, "they can't", "they won't" etc.
