Advice regarding boiler installation dispute

I was going to create a new thread but saw yours and it's actually very similar to my issue with a boiler installation.
I had a new boiler installed and it was all fine except for the condensate pipe which had not been installed correctly which caused water to leak onto the internal wall whenever the boiler was on.
I told the gas company that I would dispute the transaction with the credit card company and after 3 months of (non)-correspondence, I've been told that I wasn't successful in my claim and could not have a chargeback because I had paid for another gas company to rectify the faulty condensate pipe.
The CC company agreed with me about my having to fix the condensate pipe because the water was causing damage to the plaster but the Mastercard rules would not reimburse the work that had been carried out.
They suggested taking legal action and pursuing through a small claims court. I'm not sure I want to do this as it's been a bit of a headache to say the least and I know that it would take ages to get it resolved. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
The 7 year warranty is only available to WB accredited installers and he would have to register the warranty to get this.
You should ask WB if he is actually one of their accredited installers?
I am not, so could only offer the basic warranty on their boilers.
The Gas Safe certificate, IIRC, can only be backdated up to 30 days, so if you have been waiting in excess of 45 days, this could be the reason the installation date is incorrect on it.0 -

30 working days.
Perhaps the RGI 'forgot'....seems to happen a lot on here.0 -
Did you register the WB boiler on line yourself? and then get a certificate from them showing the lengh of the warranty.
I have just had a WB installed and completed the registration on line quoting the installers name and Gas Safe details mine was a WB accredited installer and I got a cerificate from WB showing a 7 year warranty.
I think WB has a list of accredited installers by post code on their web site you could check on your installer.
Hope all ends well for you.0 -
Thanks for the response. WB have confirmed he is not an accredited installer and so only a 2 year warranty. Sent him a letter outlining the dispute on Thursday, so see what happens from here! Thankfully I did the chargeback as the warranty issue has only just come to light.
Cannot believe how naive i was in the first instance. Just shows you have to check then double check everything they say!! Wil update once anything else happens!0
