Question about survey results

I've had my Homebuyer's Report back today, the property in question was extended in 1990 and the survey has picked up the fact that it may have been built over the drains and if it was did they have permission, obviously this would be picked up in a search, what are the implications if they did build over drains and did not have permission. Also the house has been part ex'd to Redrow so i'm buying off them, so would they carry out searches and would they have found out about this and be able to give me an answer.
thanks

Not sure about implications - but how long did it take from homebuyers survey being done to you getting it back?

    Sorry I can't help more :-(
