No it's sheer common sense, its the number 1 cause of condensation on the fabia,I've got one.Try a thing called Google you'll soon see,its better than a stab in the dark.

To be fair he's probably spot on. It's a known fault and VERY common. Skoda might even fix it for free if you bought it from them.

You must have very bad eyes / logic to not see why you'd fix a common fault before ripping the car apart to replace an expensive part.

tbh honest if its passenger side at the front then the most likley cause is a blocked drainage channel at bottom of windscreen when it blocks it fills up and then spill into the heater out from under the glovebox and drips onto passenger carpet. just fixed this exact problems on my parents 2002 fabia. when you look at the front of the car the channel is next to the suspension turret on the right side and is a slot. it is under the plastic grill at the bottom of the windscreen you need to get access inside there to clean it out or if you get lucky use a peice of wire poke it in till y ou find the hole and wriggle it about. took me about 30 mins to fix by removing windscren wipers and then that plastic trim.

there is a quick easy test for this get a bottle of water poor it through the grill at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side if the drainage channel is clear it will come out under the car if its blocked it will not.
