Qualifying to get into a church school

i work in a church school and we certainly do not push religion down the kids throats. we have a very caring school in which our children do well (im also a parent). you need to ring the school and talk to the person who does admissions. our policy is you get points for attendance at church (you & kids). points for siblings and for what you do at church. you need a letter from your minister. you dont need to have had your kids baptised as as a school we believe that you should make up your mind about such things (our heads kids weren't baptised) we also take into account distance from the other nearest secondary school.we take 35% non faith places. we also allocate places on social need, and faith means any faith not just c of c. we are very oversubscribed - this year we had 150 places on offer and 225 applications. hope this is some help'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

Hi my children go to a church school in our town. Prior to this I attended church meetings to learn more on the faith, My mum went to a church school but I did not. Our local school has had a bit of bad image. I am glad my children are at a church school , some of the kids will go on to private school and some have been taken out of private school to come to their school. I had my children baptized and their requirement was the earliest age of baptism and living within a certain area of catchments for the school. I am the furthest away from our school.
It is a shame that some of the parents dont manage to get siblings in to the school which is a worry and not nice for some parents.
I do find with our school it has a good reputation but it does harbour a few snooty types who let it go to their heads !!. I like earthy sorts ! down to earth people who are not trying to be someone else or live up to a certain image. I am NORMAL!!!!!!!!!, but I guess you get that anywhere the pta sucks them in and they come out the other end brainwashed !!!!! only joking. Also many of the parents are very wealthy and I know some have said they feel it is the next best thing to private and they have high aims for their children. I feel lucky my kids go their and I appreciate it. My children come home and say so and so has gone to Lapland and I say come on lets go to Iceland because of something I have heard on money saving expert !!!!!!!!! Like BOGOFF pizzas !.2012 - Emergency savings fund goal by December 2012 £3000.000
