GAP Insurance Problems

The garage changed the name on the V5. I spoke first to the dvla who said send it back to garage and get them to return it with a covering letter. That way there wouldn't be an extra change of keeper.

Never occurred to me about the Gap insurance until I read this thread. I spoke to the chap who went through the documentation with me and he has promised to investigate.

We will see......

I'm going to remain optimistic in the hope that its all just seen as an oversight and the insurance will pay out as it seems that there are only discrepancies with the admin side of things.

They said i should have heard from them with a decision at the end of last week, so i will wait until the end of this week before chasing them again. I will definately let you know how it goes.

UPDATE: I decided not to mention anything about the garage issuing the insurance in the wrong name and wait to see if the GAP insurance decided to pay out or not. It seems like it was the better thing to do as they have decided to overlook it. Payout is due tomorrow (after having to chase almost every day) WHOOP WHOOP! I think that if i mentioned the problem with it being missold then they may have used it to get out of paying, which would have just made my life harder trying to get the dealership to take responsibility.

I definately will find it hard in future to trust that a salesperson knows exactly what he is selling in the future.
