I would never ever entertain dealerships for servicing, i have my own guy for that so i know whats being used and he`s easy to pay. I don`t skimp on oil, fully synthetic every time.
As i said older diesels are ok for a fill of Carlube and a factors filter, drive away!
Unfortunately the newer motors are far too sensitive to oils and filters nowadays.
Of course this is a loss leader to build up a customer base... nothing wrong with that

So basically you're in agreement with the rest of us, but you felt the need to willy wave about a honda diesel because its supposed to impress us in some way?

:rotfl:i see nothing special about a 6 year old honda diesel engine????

Why get yerself into a whole state about that ??

    ....dear o dear !!

and NO i`m not in agreement with you on putting cheap oil etc into the newer sophisticated Honda, Merc, BMW etc engines that are produced now where the repair bill would set you back in the thousands

i never said to put cheap oil into a 'sophisticated' honda - you've already said as i've said its a loss leader for the guy so if he lost a few quid on some but made a few quid on others, whats the issue?

But you still insist on droning on about your 6yo diesel honda?

Still, if it impresses you thats the main thing.... :rotfl:

Right guys a bit of feedback on Ambassador Auto Repairs:
their customer service is very good, the groupon deal is great value and would recommend anyone to buy and use it. They are using as a tool to build a customer base - as has been mentioned here before. BUT...
I had asked for them to also change the air and fuel filter (which I wouldn't imagine to be a big job or take that long to do as I can do it on my own car) parts were marked as £10.50 for Air filter / £20.50 for Fuel Filter inc VAT and Labour £25 (all in inc. VAT = £66).

Lesson learned change the oil & filters myself: I can get these 2 filters from EuroCarParts for approx £10/each and do this in 30mins.
