Are you able to connect to your homepage or anything else. Seems odd to me you can not get update on Avg unless your internet connection is down.0

This seems like quite a common problem with AVG. Someone else was on here earlier saying their AVG would not update and over the past few weeks quite a few people have been coming on saying its stopped updating.
Try downlodaing the latest AVG installer package and then updating it, as I found that this normally worked.0 -
i would remove avg and install avast as i reckon its a much better program all round http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
I would have to agree. I find AVG average at best and it just gets loads of recommendations because its free.
I dont personally use it myself. Kaspersky is the best currently but it depends if you want to pay for it.0 -
I made another thread earlier today I cant update only manually I've tried everything including role back reg cleaners I just hope its something that will get corrected still don't know if its something with my machine or not
If it doesnt correct I'll have to try the avast program if its free is it just as good as using norton etc?Thanx

I did have the latest version I've now uninstaled it for the 4th time just about to reinstal it after installing and using another reg cleaner to see if that makes a difference but if oither people have the prob it could be something with them. I'm looking at avast rewiews it seems to come out well at least the same as avg if not betterThanx
