Paypal Bank Transfer Limit Reached

My limit has now reached the maximum allowed for money to be transfered from my paypal account to my bank. Now they require my credit/debit card details, which I have neither.

I tried to open another paypal account direct which it rejected due to same bank details, not a surprise I suppose. I have a small deposit account which my bank will not allow direct debits to, so thats out of the question.

Is there a way around this, closing an account & opening a new? If so, is there a set space of time to leave in-between?

Or should I just cancel paypal on all my auctions & hope it does not affect my sales too much?

Any advice would be very much appreciated & apologies for the very long post!

Not sure about the account situation but I wouldn't stop offering PayPal because you probably wont get the same level of bidders as that is how most people prefer to pay. I nearly always get fantastic bargains from people who don't offer PayPal.

Personally, as a buyer, I wouldn't send a high value cheque for anything.

Surely you could get a debit card linked to your account? How do you with draw money?

Contact PayPal and tell them you don't have a card. Ask what you should do.

Not accepting PayPal might not affect your sales prices if you have good feedback and a long history on eBay selling. Also it depends on the category. For instance in collectibles you'll still get good prices as many sellers don't accept PayPal, while in consumer electronics almost every seller accepts PayPal.

    Hope this helps :-)

My feedback is 1600+, been on ebay for 5+ years selling . I sell mainly comic books that never go for more than a tenner each.

With the postal rises & paypal fees I may experiment for a month & see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

Sorry I'm probably being dim but how did you mange to set up a paypal account in the first place without a debit card? Didn't think that was possible. Apart from a method digerati has mentioned on here before but that didn't involve a bank account.

If you have funds "stuck" in paypal you could send them to a friend's paypal account but you will loose out on paypal fees on your friends account for recieving the money.

If your talking about a large amount and would prefer not to incurr any paypal charges I do know of a way of transferring paypal funds instantly into cash with no charges and no waiting time , but you will still need a friend with a debit card to set it up.
Not gonna post it on here because it's a scam artists wet dream and unless you are talking large amounts of funds stuck in a paypal account it's not worth setting it up because it's a fair bit of hassle.

But as a UK citizen you are entitled to a basic bank account even if it only has a visa electron card (which is all paypal require) to be able to recieve and withdraw (after paypal verification) unlimited paypal funds.

If you have a look on the current account section of MSE there's a sticky thread which explains all plus loads of subsequent threads on problems obtaining a current acount. Unless you have been prosecuted for defrauding banks in the past (and that doesn't include CCJ's for debts etc) you won't have a problem getting yourself a new bank account with a DD card even if your not officialy employed.

How about opening a google checkout account and transfering the cash from Paypal there?
You can send email invoices the same way you send paypal payment requests.
At the moment there are no fees with google checkout.
Check the small print first, you will probably need to use a different email address.

I set up my paypal account about 3 years ago. Paypal verfied my account by placing 2 small deposits & that was it. I was only required to give debit card information if I wanted to raise my sending limit. It is only now my sending limit has been reached I have hit this problem.

As I said before I may try out listings for a month without paypal & then take it from there
