Tips to clean tile grout quickly

Options
We're moving into our new house on Saturday and had some work done but are having to make do with the existing 1950s kitchen for now. The kitchen has floor-to-ceiling tiles which are absolutely disgusting with the grout covered in mould/mildrew. I've tried attacking them with bleach/bicarb and a toothbrush which has worked quite well but it's taking absolutely ages - does anyone have any ideas how I can speed things up. Any tips would be much appreciated x

Buy a denture brush and try toothpaste.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Bleach. Honestly its amazing; every house should have a bottle. And use it.

    Other than that...
A big tub of premixed grout is £14 in Wickes.
A rake will be £3 or cheaper in Toolstation. (Unless you can borrow a resinating(?) tool thing. They are amazing for grout)
And flexible cards from a taxi rank.

Will take you a few hours. Redo the silicon (hairdrier for removal, £4 for new) and you'll have a lovely wall.

But try the bleach first. For really stubbon bits put bleach on a cotton ball and leave it laying on the stain for a day.

    In summary; use bleach.

    HG Mould Spray!

Found it recommended on here ages ago - bit fumey - but spray it on & leave it (overnight?).

Our 'Range' sells it, tho' I got mine on Am@zon.

A bigger brush, either an outdoor broom head or a shoe brush will most certainly speed things up for you.

    Another for HG Mould Spray.

I used VIM and a hard brush a while back and results good.

If it has a genuine 1950's kitchen it might be worth some money...

Grout pen once you have cleaned any grease/ bodyfat and mould off. Leave mould killer to soak if there is mould, it should bleach out completely. Best thing by a country mile for grease, bodyfat, fingerprints, black rubber scuffs and a raft of other mysterious marks is sugar soap.
