Car Warranty HELP!

Options
If anyone can help with this I'd be eternally grateful...

We've recently bought a 2007 Vauxhall Zafira on a part exchange deal with my old car and a deposit. The purchase was made on finance and I start paying this next month. This was two weeks ago and there are two more weeks left on the warranty.

Since we bought it, there have been several big problems with the car, including it smoking up. It was difficult enough to persuade the dealer to take a proper look at first, and even after it's returned from the mechanics the problems are still recurring.

At this stage we just want to take the car back and null the deal. But the dealer is now saying he'll take legal action if we do so. What rights do we have here? Can we get our old car back and deposit? And does the dealer have any leg to stand on when it comes to legal action?

Any help much appreciated!

The only option of legal action is yours to take, not the dealers.

    Smoking up? Its a diesel?

When was it last serviced? A proper service not just an oil change.

What other issues does it have?

Are you sure its not just 2nd thoughts on whether you bought the right car or spent too much?

What do you mean by smoking up?

    When does it happen?

Are there any lights on or flashing on the dash?
  • Hi I'm the owner of the zafira This question was posted by a friend of mine, The issue is the dpf filter, they have carried out a forced regen and said it is still smoking abit but they claim This is just residue in The exhaust. I can't understand This as on a forced regen The exhaust will burn everything out at above 500 degrees. They also refuse to replace The oil even though The insp light is on and the regen would have contaminated The oil. I've just had enough of there lies and sale patter and now feel threatened as he's mentioning solicitors and legal action. This is my first car on finance so very much a grey area for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

If you drive it gently it will smoke, Give it an (italian tune up) Where you use higher revs than normal but you dont need to kill it. Keep off the red section on the rev counter.

But 4500revs wont kill it if the red line is 5000rpm.

Modern diesels need a good thrash to keep the soot away.

How many miles has it covered?
