Causation isn't the same thing as correlation don't forget.

Are there any confounding factors to consider?

It's the slowest service of any coffee shop I have ever been in. It confounds my imagination as to how such a simple task can be doen so slowly and so disorganisedly by so many people.

Why don't you save your money, then buy some coffee beans and grind your own, better than anything in Starbucks or Costa or what ever.

Because I don't tend to take my kitchen with me when I go out to the city centre or a retail park for shopping or nip in for a coffee after the gym, and it's an oportunity to sit down and chill out for a while.

I think the UK used to have the worst coffee in the world before Starbucks opened up and started the premium chain wars.

At least it didn't contribute to the obesity debate :)

Our local cinema ticket office sells coffee too so if you're in a rush to get your ticket and find a seat you have all the frustration of queuing behind somone who wants two cups of slowly prepared coffee.

Hate it when people order it in pubs as then the service slows to a snails pace.

In the pubs I do order it in they will bring it to your table. Mono, Stereo, The 78, The 13th note.

Isn't this a benefit of trade? In the 1940s, the Brits had to drink British coffee (vile):

    shouldnt that read,

"I hate it when pubs offer coffee but have no idea how to make it efficently or fit it into their normal service!"

cant blame the people for buying something on offer.

Well my version used fewer pixels! :D
And I do blame them for conmsuming a diuretic before a film starts. Knowing my luck they'll block my view when they get up to go to the toilet.

Yet the UK used to yearn for the continental cafe culture.

Different when one is on holiday not back in the UK where time waits for no one.
