Peugeot finance credit protection insurance

Hi
Just going through my paperwork and found all the documentation for the finance of a car I bought in 2003. Had a look through it and I have credit protection insurance which I cannot remember agreeing to or signing up to. It worked out at £12.04 per month and was for 48 months.
2 questions - anyone had any dealings with Peugeot finance? If yes how successful were you and how did you go about it! Have searched on google and very little came up in the form of my title so hoping for some responses!
