    Would it be possible to work out from the total amount she receives, how much is for this benefit? That might help.

    carers allowance cant be paid when state pension is in place,they are overlapping benefits

    AA cannot be paid as part of somebody eles entitlement ie if he had AA it would be paid either on its own or as part of HIS state pension, it would not of been paid with the wife's SP. It maybe at somepoint they have had help either from a visiting officer with the DWP or welfare rights/Cab that has helped with an AA applicaiton for both of them.

    Carers allowance cannot be combined with State Pension.
