claiming back money on a holiday

Hi just looking for some advice booked a holiday in Rome at the end of last year. Just found out that my wife cannot possibly get the time of work on the date that we were meant to fly. I booked this online and payed it with my visa debit card (nationwide) could any1 tell me if i have got any right to claim a refund on my card due to having to cancel holiday.

    No

Travel insurance is your option for getting any money back, but dont know of any insurance that covers "cant get time off work".

If you have only paid the deposit you can cancel and only lose the deposit if there are still a few months before travel (prob 3).

Can I ask if you are serious though? who books a holiday and then waits a few months before trying to get time off work, shouldnt that be the first thing you do

No. Put it down to experience. Hope she gets a holiday at some other time.

    TBH we do :o
My wife has to book her holidays for the coming year by Oct/Nov of the previous year to get anything in summer (not all people with grown up children want winter holidays), I am not allowed to book anything before April as that is when my holidays start so quite often we book in early Jan when I dont have holidays booked BUT in a push I can work from my holiday via laptop (only ever happened once) and just do the really urgent stuff.:A

I don't have to book my leave by a particular date but would never pay for a trip before booking leave from work

Different scenario for you though, maybe i should rephrase, to who books a holiday before getting time off work, if they know that if they cant get time off, the holiday would have to be cancelled.

I think the OP maybe a troll though, 1st post and no response
