Hi
My oil boiler is like 20 + years old and I want to replace it for something that would run more efficiently
Have seen on gumtree a boiler for sale in my area, its a worchester bosch 50/70 boiler complete with burner, he says its 5 years old, hes selling it for £80, is it worth doing?
He said running fine but just selling as hes changing to gas
Thanks for any advice

It's very cheap. The worst that can happen is the burner failing. Have you found out how much one of those costs?0

Been trying on the net but cant find anywhere, obviously would have to pay a plumber to fit too, so just wondering is it worth it.
The £80 was for the oil tank aswell, which i dont need.0 -
No installer will give you any kind of warranty on a boiler you supply secondhand. But at that price it's probably a compromise that you can live with.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I wouldn't, it sounds like a whole load of potential problems, starting with finding anyone willing to take on the job. Besides, quite a bit of the cost of a replacement boiler is in things other than the actual boiler, so you'd be investing a fair bit more in it than the £80. So, you potentially risk losing your £80, plus the cost of all the other parts/labor needed when installing a boiler and losing the current working boiler too. I think you'd be taking a large gamble on the whole thing.0

have you not thought they could be a very good reason he is selling a boiler & a huge oil tank for only £80 !!!!I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
