Could anyone help me out here.
If two unemployed people (worst case scenario for me and my friend, or anyone for that matter) were wanting to move into a private landlord house as joint tenants what rate would we be entitled to?
It is a 3 bedroom house.
These are February rates for my area.
Shared Room rate per week : £45.70
1 Bedroom rate per week : £68.79
2 Bedroom rate per week : £86.10
3 Bedroom rate per week : £94.23
The guy at the housing executive wasn't exactly very helpful. He just said we would have to make individual claims and it would be assessed on the grounds of income & savings. Neither of us have any savings currently and no dependents.
I have only ever paid rent before in uni and to my aunt so this is all pretty new to me.
I think its the shared room rate per week but I would just like anyone's advice on LHA in general.
Cheers.

The rate applicable would depend on the ages of the occupants. How old would they be?
Also, if deemed a couple this could lower the potential rate.0 -
I am just turned 24 and my friend is 22."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

If you are under 35, you are only entitled to the shared room rate.So that's £91.40 a week between you, or just shy of £400 a month. The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

            Cheers monkey
this is on the basis we are unemployed, I work part time at the minute but its only 16 hours and hopefully getting full time in June so I know I can claim LHA & my friend is going back to work soon hopefully after looking after his mother for 5 months after a serious car accident.
Thanks alot."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."
