Can I claim?

Hi everyone

Just after some advice please. I was speaking to my brother in law at the weekend about how he had made a claim back againt lloyds for missold PPI.

My Credit card statement came yesterday and thought I would have a proper look through it after the conversation and on there it says that I am paying for PPI. I never even knew I had it on my account.

Is there any point in trying to claim against Barclays for this or will I fail as it will be my word against theres?

Any advice is hugely appreciated

How long have you had your credit card? How many statements have you had showing it which you havent read?

It is the weakest form of complaint going. You may have forgotten. You may be telling lies in case you get lucky. You may genuinely have been mis-sold. No way to tell which.

Do you have any stronger complaint reason?

You can say you don't believe you were ever given the option to take PPI or not which is technically synonymous, after all, if you didn't know you had it then obviously you didn't know you had an option not to have it, the only thing they might get you on which they seem to be catching many on is if there is any paperwork with 'do you want' tick boxes which you might have inadvertently put a tick into without fully understanding what you were agreeing to, I know there are some here who will say it's silly to tick a box and sign something when you don't understand it in full but it happens, and besides, even if people were silly, being silly doesn't excuse mis-selling, that's the real issue.
