Didn't Collect Item From Sorting Office

Hello!

I've not been having a good time with eBay recently, with items going missing/not being as described!

I received a card through the post for an item sent Special Delivery but stupid me thought it would be held for 18 days, instead of the 7. I planned to pick it up on the 18th day, but re-read the card and realised it said 7 days. I contacted the sorting office who said it wasn't there. I contacted the seller who says they haven't had it back.

The online tracking says it had tried to been delivered on the 1st February, but hasn't been updated since - where do I stand on this?

I don't have the item, the seller doesn't have proof of it being delivered (as it hasn't been) yet I don't have proof of sending it back to the seller (because it would be the PO that did it). If he didn't write a Return Address on the parcel then it could be lost forever (hence why I think the seller may be telling the truth about not receiving it).

I've had to claim for 3 non-received items recently and don't want Paypal to block my account if I say this hasn't been received - can PayPal do this for 'nuisance' customers? I don't want to seem like one but obviously don't want to lose out on my money!

If seller can't prove it was delivered, you will win an INR case.

Not your fault if seller didn't put return address on. I thought they made you put it on with special delivery items?

Why on earth were you going to wait until the 18th day???

You can in future go online and request re delivery free of charge to a date of your choice saving you a trip to the sorting office

recorded used to be held for 7 days,now 18
SD used to be held for 21 days,now 18

Did you receive a red and white P739 Card ?? Do you still have it, if you do make sure you keep it. Are you sure the card is for your ebay item.

as others had said why wait 18 days to pick up a special delivery?

Why keep it - is it valuable!

I organised a re-delivery but it never came so I presumed the service was unreliable - I waited as I couldn't get to it due to work hours before then!

Always worth keeping if things go astray or info gets wiped or something, maybe me being too careful/keeping too much junk perhaps.

fair enough, although alarms bells would of sounded to me after not getting a knock or a card on the re-delivery day. hope you get it sorted out ok.
