    The MIB will cover all injury claims and also damage claims, with an excess of £300 for damage claims.

  • Either (a) it could have changed or (b) my memory could be wrong but there used to be two different agreements, the Untraced Driver and the Uninsured Driver agreements. One was PI only the other was PI and vehicle damage

    It has changed, in 2003 I believe.

    Providing incident reported to plod within 5 days for damage only claims, the MIB will deal (after the usual delays). £300 MIB excess would apply on property damage though IIRC.

    Even if the car is stolen the insurance company the owner has for the car should pay out.
