Would you still be happy if you were eating in one of the on-board restaurants and the service was dire and one of the waiters/waitresses insulted you, and you knew that despite this, the staff member in question would be receiving an "auto-tip" from your account?
I visit the US on a regular basis, somewhere tipping is accepted as the norm and I am more than happy to tip if the service is good or even just okay, but there is no way that I would leave a single cent if I felt that the service I was given was well below standard.0 -

Have to agree with this. We got a cab in Las Vegas once and the cabbie was unpleasant and very unfriendly. The fare came to $16 and we only had a $20 note so we asked him to wait while one of us went into the Casino to get some change (he typically said he had no change on him). The ironic thing was if he was pleasant and friendly we would have said keep the change!0 -

In my experience the service has always been very good, usually excellent and I can't imagine for a moment that a waiter would insult me. It just wouldn't happen on the ships I've been onEarly retired - 18th December 2014
