I have to say I wouldn't mind a text to say the hoovering had been done...
Not sure my OH knows what a hoover's for!
He's not too good at diy either, but then neither am I so I can't complain too much. Thankfully he doesn't think he's good at it, quite the opposite, he thinks he's rubbish & things always go wrong. He'd rather sit & think about things for a (looooooooooooooong) time while I'm probably more of a try it & see...then suffer the consequences of my impatience!:o
As neither of us have much spare time we have agreed that it's safer all round to get someone in to do the jobs that he cant/wont/doesn't want to do & it's working a treat at the moment. Of course it means not everything can be done because of cost, but it saves those infuriating half done jobs hanging around for months (or years... ) Someone who knows what they're doing is often in & done in next to no time, has all the right tools & wont whinge. Maybe something along those lines might work for you?
Good luck...& at least you know you're very far from being alone!

Well Misgrace, Somerset, Charlotte and Never Enough. I've decided that I'm going to get my wife to read all your posts to help her realise how lucky she is.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The real truth. I too am guilt of taking my time to get around to doing things, but I am apparently capable. Well I do jobs in the house for a living part time.
However, I am useless at cooking, cleaning and most other household chores.
My wife is a good decorator and does sometimes help me with some of the few decorating jobs I get. She is also responsible for doing the decorating in our house which I am supposed to be renovating instead of typing this on the PC!:D
Please don't tell her I was here:embarasseBehind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
Its like a bridget jones forum.
I today have fitted a carpet and painted the bedroom.
Last weekend i fitted the skirting and plastered the walls.
But if someone is not suited to DIY thats how it is.
Admittedly they should know or appreciate that but give them some credit for trying then say unfortunately you cant do it.
Im sure your guys are really good at their jobs or are good dads, we cant all be be superheros.0
