Can't help noticing the increasing number of threads/posts voicing dissatisfaction (and worse) with the service which letting agents provide.
By both tenants, and landlords.
OK-we know that satisfied customers tend not to post, so praise is unusual even where due, but...
I know we have solicitors who contribute to the forum, and financial advisers, as well as tenants and landlords. But never see agents.
Are there none reading the forum, or are you just keeping quiet to avoid further verbal missiles?????
Come on guys and girls! A few of you must be honourable! Stick up for yourslves!
Total lack of redress to deal with incompetent, inefficient overcharging MA or even MAs that are plain robbers .
Consumer protection exists for buying a dress or loaf or bread you would think there would be robust systems for leaseholders and freeholders to deal with bad managing agents.
THERE ISN'T and don't quote LEASE OR LVT at me - they are self regulated useless bodies.Flying Donkeys- Do no harm to others and you will benefit in more ways than one.0 -

GOOD ONES can be found at Leasehold Knowledge Partership or word of mouth who have been around for ages and will tend to be small well run outfits.Flying Donkeys- Do no harm to others and you will benefit in more ways than one.0 -
I was kind of joking. I have signed a contract, just not been given my copy yet (as the LL wasn't available to sign it, so it was sent on to him).
Your agent sounds incompetent. They are authorised to sign on behalf of the LL. They are the LL's agents after all, unless there is no contract between them!0 -

Yes, I found it odd as my friend who lives in the same building (and LL, owns the whole building) had his signed by the agent (although just a PDF copy provided via email and not the original) and had just moved in a month before me.0 -
Kosh : Point taken, tho many letting agents have gone into managing property as well. Strangely enough those with lots of complaints as letting agents attract the same if not more complaints when managing!
Do you manage property?Flying Donkeys- Do no harm to others and you will benefit in more ways than one.0
