Moved House, Plusnet can't move old phone number

Glad you got it sorted in the end.
I don't believe the final explanation as number reservations only last 24 hours before they are automatically expired.
I suspect that what happened is your CoA order was cancelled or rejected by Openreach but the cease order on your old line went through anyway, leaving you without service. The cease order probably didn't close down properly on Openreach's CSS system, meaning the number was not marked as spare.
It's times like this that customer service is really tested, as you (the EU) end up having to persuade the CP to go "off piste" and deviate from their comfort zone. In this case, you succeeded0 -
I have a barrage of people whinging at me day in, day out because I can't move their number with their house - most of the time we can but sometimes it's just not possible.
Even have some idiots trying to move a number despite it being a different area code!0
