hello march grocers xx
i am going for £200 this month.. less than last month's budget (which I bust) but I have done my budget in a much more focussed way so -
My budget includes all groceries and household stuff incl toiletries but doesn't include everything we will eat because I've a separate eating out budget. .. anything that is extra specially purchased for the visit(s) of Mr Sheep's kids also comes out of a separate budget if absolutely necessary although I hope to cover it from this one if i can.
Starting march with a Tssco everyday v@lue week of shopping in my cupboards (paid for in feb) so that should keep costs down.. playing havoc with my diet though as the cheaper meat etc is loads more points! Ah well got to pay for the wedding somehow.. xx
o yes and my budget runs 28th feb to 28th march (paydays)...
good luck all! xCC1 £7,944.10
CC2 £2,680.03
CC3 £1,020.880 -
Hi,
Setting my budget for £200 again this month please. x0 -
First spend of the month - £8.00 in Morrisons.
Have now made a list so this month I should only need to buy the following:
Bread rolls 6packsx6
Milk 2pinterx3
Smoked wafer thin ham 400g pack
Cheese - hmm usually buy sliced but may buy a block and slice it myself now
Instant mash 3sachets/packs
Apples 6 if I can get some at a price I'm happy with
Satsumas usually get 10 and that lasts 2week
Bananas hand of 5x3
Porridge oats 1bag of value/basic
Pink and Whites 6pack x 2
I like to round things up to the nearest whole pound so I'm estimating £20 (rounded up from about £17)
Plus the Makro shop for which I am budgeting £55
Plus dog treats at £2
So after those and today I have £35 for take aways/treats etc for the month but some of those come from a different budget anyway.
I think key is going to be staying out of grocery shops on my lunch break as that's when I end up buying stuff just for the sake of it/to kill time. I'll have to start going to clothes stores and trying stuff on insteadhehe

Sorry, haven't found out yet how this quoting thing works. But today I joined MSE and this is my first post!
Have been lurking quite a long time, and would really like to join this challenge!
Aww what a good thread to start your 'official' mse posting on SpendingSensible!!
People seem to be de-lurking all over the place this month! It's great that you have been helped by reading all our posts and it's fab that you're coming on here and posting because now you'll be part of encouraging and helper others too!!
I am sadly doing terribly this month and unfortunately appear to be slipping into a 'well I've already blown the budget so what the h***' mindset which isn't acceptable!! :eek:Must get refocused, every pound overspent is a pound less that could have gone into the deposit savings account!!
Recent spends:
Boots for DH's expensive shampoo £6.99
Waitrose £7.49 tea for last night (still feeling a bit icky plus first day back at work with a cracking headache and didn't want to cook).
Sainsbugs £4.92
Hopefully I'll be feeling better this weekend and can get a batch load of cooking done for the freezer!Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Had a spend of £3.68 today.
I had to change the menu plan about - went to Dentist this afternoon. Had 3 injections and a nerve removed from my tooth so needed softer food.
For dinner we had HM wedges with poached egg and spicy baked beans - Ald. ones with fresh ground black pepper and a dash of Peri Peri sauce added.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
