Painting sharps bedroom wardrobes/draws

Hello, my parents have fitted wardrobes from sharps, they have seen better days, colour has gone off and handles broken however other than that there is nothing wrong with them. Is there a way to repaint them to brighten them up? What type of paint would be needed? Thanks
