MBNA Credit Card Application Process

Hi everyone;

I have applied for MBNA Platinium card for money and balance transfer at weekend and when i filled the online application form at the end it said approved for £4500 limit and also informed me that i will be receiving email in a day or 2 and after 7-10 days my pin and card.

So is this the normal procedure as according to their FAQ page for weekend applications they send letter within 7-10 days with the result of application they saying but on my application its approved straight away and also i checked my experian account their search showing on there as well.

I have a few questions as i need to do pay off balance of my barclaycard by 2nd March and not sure will i be able to receive the card and pin from MBNA and also how long this money transfer takes from MBNA to current account.

Can if anyone have experience let me know i would be appreciated as if im not likely to transfer this money by 2nd of March so i can look for my alternative options.

If you did the balance transfer while applying it goes through straight away. You don't need the card and pin to do transfers as you can access your account on the internet and do it from there also.

The new balance shows on your MBNA card the day you transfer but it takes about 5 days to show on your Barclaycard account.

If you haven't transferred anything yet ring MBNA and do it over the phone, you just need your BC number.

Thanks for your reply. I havent done Balance Transfer yet but i said on application i need Money Transfer amount of 5k and after it asked for my bank current account details which i filled in and after credit scoring page said my limit will be 4.5k. I have phoned them up today and they said account is not set up on their system yet as it will take 7 days before they can see it on the computer they advised but i havent even received email reply or anything either as of today which been over 24 hours since my application.

When I applied online last month it was a Thursday afternoon, instant approval and also got the note that I'd get an email - it arrived the following Monday at 2.39am. I also got a text later that day confirming my account.

PIN arrived the following Friday with card following Monday.
