Does it see your home network?

If so, at which point is it failing to connect?

What security / encryption is used on your network?
How do I add a signature?

The first thing i'd do in your position is restart the router.

Note: If you have a separate router and modem then restart them both.

I know this is the famous IT phrase 'have you tried turning it on and off again?' but you'd be surprised how often it works!
  • If the problem recurs then you could try setting a static IP address.

I had a problem like this with a few devices until I changed my router. Particularly prone to this was an iPod touch and an Android 2.1 phone.

The phone was extremely frustrating. It's still a bit rubbish on WiFi but now manageable.

Correct password? Correct network name established (I have 4 neighbour Skys to choose from)? Can you temporarily remove or disable the router password?

Anything else (Android) in the house that can be set to be a hotspot so the Samsung could maybe try to connect to that (again with no password set) via 'tethering'.

If you get it going re-add the passwords obviously (although I've had to remove paswords (ie open/unsecured network) long term to get things working sometimes with older kit).

And see if you can get the Galaxy to connect out and about on a free wifi network.

Just to be clear - has this device ever been connected to your home network before or is it new?
