Would anyone kindly point me in the direction of which is the best tablet to buy as there appears to be so many makes on the market?

Budget around £130.

I have a samsung galaxy ace running android.

Decent screen size required min 7 inches.

That price non as the budget stuff in my opinion is rubbish .
Nexus 7 16 GB or Galaxy Tab 7 are the least expensive decent tabs .

Likewise ^^^^ we have 2 x N7 in the house. Having previously purchased 3 cheap tablets before hand.

Agree, buying the best tablet for £130 is a bit optimistic.
Samsung tab2 is a good option at £156/9

although its against the general grain, and i do concur above that your budget is so close to a nexus 7 that it would be worth saving another month to get the extra £30ish needed to get the N7,
