can anyone tell me, when a car is serviced do they do the tyre pressures?

    Depends who services it, or are you waiting for a service to have them checked?, they should be checked regularly
  • no cb...after a year waiting for the next service the tyres might be a shade on the under pressure side ;)

    It was just a question that came up last night when talking about cars in general

    From a Focus annual service schedule, (the change the oil and kick the tyres one)
    Under Vehicle
    blah blah blah
    Tyres Check wear and condition, especially at tyre wall, note tread depth RF 1pix.gif mm, LF 1pix.gif mm, LR 1pix.gif mm, RR 1pix.gif mm
    blah blah blah
    Outside Vehicle
    blah blah blah
    Tyres Adjust pressure
    Spare wheel Adjust pressure, check wear - condition (note tread depth) 1pix.gif mm
    blah blah blah
    so yes

    I would say yes.
  • The Highway code (Just Driving) says that you should normally check your tyre pressures once a week so anything the garage did would be additional to that !

    Most do but it's best to check afterwards/the day after if possible. When the vehicle's being serviced, the tyres may not be "cold" which can lead to the tyres being slightly under-inflated.

    Depends if you get a proper sevice or a £99 service where they change the oil and look for expensive parts to replace to bump the bill up.
