Daily Mail/Mail On Sunday Rewards Scheme - Moving Targets!

Options
Last September (2012), Itraded 6800 points collected over a long period for a £25 Tesco voucher.

Uptil then, I have traded only 1500 points at a time for £5 Tesco vouchers, (4times in all). Other than that the only other trade in was for a Zavvi voucherwhich when I tried to use it on line I found that the catalogue of itemsavailable was basically stuff they couldn't sell otherwise. I did get asatisfactory resolution out of that debacle but that's another story!

I digress!

I find now that if you want the same Tesco vouchers, you have to save up 2000points for a £5 voucher and a massive 9500 for a £25 voucher. This represents amassive increase of 33.3% for the former and a even more massive increase of39.7% for the latter.

I have complained to the Daily Mail Rewards Scheme who sent me this:

"Thankyou for yourmessage regarding the increased rewards values.

The Mail Rewards Shop operates like any online store and Mail Pointsvalues(like prices) are liable to change from time to time. This is duetofluctuations in the price at which we are able to acquire these items forourmembers.

We endeavour to deliver all items to our members at the best possible priceandapologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

PersonallyI feel that this is a "brush-off".

Ihave written back and complained with the comment that this is not afluctuation and that such increases cannot be classified as such. I stronglysuspect that many of the stores who initially signed up with the DM and MoS arenow trying to back off wishing that they hadn't joined up. Judging by a lot ofunjustified increases in food cost at Tesco in particular, (we do most of outshopping at Tesco, unfortunately), it would seem that this may be the case.

Iam very angry that I have saved up nearly another 9000 points again only tofind that they are worth a hell of a lot less than they were less than a yearago.

Anybody else got any comments - shall we start a revolution?
