odd ppi issue

long story short time
wife lost her job we put a claim in to get credit card paid which they did then they stopped the card as they paid it at the tinme we wasnt bothered as the card wasnt getting used
but now 2 years later both of us now in work we get a bill from cc company telling us they are still charging us for a card we no longer have !!!
the same card they told us to cut up and bin
so apart from the obvious ppi claim for the 2 years or so surely there are other avenues we could go down as this is basically theft /fraud

Did you actually close the account? Being told not to use it is not the same as closing the account.

this is the first statement for a VERY long time 12 months maybe
this is why i am concearned not noticed it going out of bank account to be honest and yes i do check my account incomings and out goings as we had and overdraft aswell so we have been carefull with our spending till we are back in the black (which should be in the next month yay go us )0 -
I suggest you put your case to them and see what they say. Dont go down the theft/fraud route. It wont be that. Either it is a misunderstanding or a clerical error.
